First Study in 40 Years Legitimizes Medical LSD

The reality is that all psychoactive drugs can be abused with negative effects.  Not to however is the road of science and good medicine while discovering what benefits can be delivered.  At the moment we rediscovering what we already knew and taking a refresher.

What it does mean is that the toolkit is quickly expanding and most of all this will be available for therapeutic reasons.

It appears that a host of mental disturbances can be described as imprinting problems.  Some of these drugs allow that effect to be countered in conjunction with well thought out therapy.  This will be a huge blessing that may well remove the weakest third of such problems and may surprise us with the rest.  Just getting rid of borderline cases frees up effort to be applied.

This appears to be a low threshold but I think that prevents later development of sever cases.

First Study in 40 Years Legitimizes LSD for Psychotherapeutic Use

The public image problem for psychedelic substances is finally correcting itself, due in large part to the willingness of some scientific communities to ignore taboos and press ahead with modern research into the efficacy of their use as therapeutic medicines. Cannabis is the front-runner in the campaign to end the war on consciousness and open the door for psychoactive substances as publicly available medicine. Psilocybin is now touted as a natural and potent remedy for chronic depression, and the healing benefits of the South American medicine Ayahuasca are widely discussed in the Western world, and is even showing promise as an anti-cancer agent.

Now, 40 years of prohibition against medical research into the psychological benefits of synthetic compound lysergic acid dyethlyamide (LSD) has finally come to an end with positive results. Peter Gasser, M.D., a private practice psychiatrist in Solothurn, Switzerland has recently published the significant findings of a recent study of the effects that LSD has on patients with certain anxiety disorders.

“A double-blind, randomized, active placebo-controlled pilot study was conducted to examine safety and efficacy of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD)-assisted psychotherapy in 12 patients with anxiety associated with life- threatening diseases. Treatment included drug-free psychotherapy sessions supplemented by two LSD-assisted psychotherapy sessions 2 to 3 weeks apart.” [Source]

The study is considered to be a success because while showing no lasting adverse reactions to treatment with LSD, study participants showed significant and sustained long-term reductions in state anxiety over a 12-month period:

“These results indicate that when administered safely in a methodologically rigorous medically supervised psychotherapeutic setting, LSD can reduce anxiety, suggesting that larger controlled studies are warranted.”

Peter, an Austrian subject in this study remarked, “My LSD experience brought back some lost emotions and ability to trust, lots of psychological insights, and a timeless moment when the universe didn’t seem like a trap, but like a revelation of utter beauty.” This statement is characteristic of many people’s experience with LSD, both clinical and recreational, and brings further testimony to the case for legitimizing these medicines for public use.

The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) has for years been the forerunner in the advocacy of legalization of research into the medical benefits of psychoactive substances. In a recently released MAPS press-alert the organization notes that, “there is considerable previous human experience using LSD in the context of psychotherapy. From the 1950s through the early 1970s, psychiatrists, therapists, and researchers administered LSD to thousands of people as a treatment for alcoholism, as well as for anxiety and depression in people with advanced stage cancer.”

Originally formulated by the renowned Swiss chemist Albert Hoffman, LSD produces an effect that can amplify consciousness and bring about positive lasting changes in perception and one’s feeling of ‘connectedness’ to the universe and the web of life that supports human beings:

“LSD in oral doses of more than 100 Kg produces vivid psychosensory changes, including increased sensory perception, illusionary changes of perceived objects, synesthesia, and enhanced mental imagery. Affectivity is intensified. Thoughts are accelerated, with their scope usually broadened including new associations and modified interpretation and meanings of relationships and objects. Hypermnesia and enhanced memory processes typically occur. Ego identification is usually weakened. The general state of consciousness can be compared to a daydream, but with pronounced affectivity and enhanced production of inner stimuli (Grof, 1975; Hintzen and Passie, 2010).” [Source]

Research into the psychotherapeutic benefits of LSD began in the 1950′s but was brought to an abrupt halt in 1966 when LSD was made illegal by the Unites States government, ostensibly due to overuse of LSD as a recreational substance by America’s youth. The Executive Director of MAPS, Rick Doblin, Ph.D. states that, “this study is historic and marks a rebirth of investigation into LSD-assisted psychotherapy. The positive results and evidence of safety clearly show why additional, larger studies are needed.”

In a world dominated by scientific materialism and marked by a war on consciousness the criminalizes the free exploration of one’s own mind and body, legitimate and positive scientific research is the key that can unlock long-held cultural taboos and misunderstandings about the nature of psychoactive substances.

2014 The Year of Bitcoin

Like it or love it, bitcoin has been a constant theme of headlines for the past year, as 2013 marked its coming of age.

Last year’s nerd money fad has become this year’s most talked about product.

Ultimately, nature abhors a vacuum and with western political leadership an increasingly distant memory, citizens are becoming increasingly restive about the parlous state of financial governance. Throughout the West, the ravages of quantitative easing [QE] have helped the wealthiest prosper, while ordinary citizens have struggled through a grinding economic plight, which has left voters feeling increasingly abandoned by government.

Into this void has stepped something which had been mooted for many years: a popular electronic currency. Bitcoin is filling a gap self-interested central bankers are keen to suggest doesn’t need filling. Establishment media has been wrong-footed as the Copernican Revolution in finance creates not just bitcoin but a series of parallel financial universes where independent money is at the center of commerce, as opposed to government manipulated fiat currency.

Meanwhile, bitcoin may not be the cryptocurrency the world uses in a decade and the biannual obituaries may yet prove right! As 2013 concluded, BTC’s value had multiplied albeit off its highs after the Bank of China endeavored to close the door to the threat of a backdoor floatation of the renminbi.

In reality, BTC is still remarkably small – growing exponentially from about 142 million dollars to circa 8 billion by Christmas. In other words, the total value of bitcoin amounts to the annual GDP of the Bahamas. Clearly bitcoin isn’t economically significant, yet. However, it now has its first ATM and many have bought beers, lattes and even homes with BTC this past year.

Naturally bankers of all shades are scared of losing their monopolist grip on money, yet given the vast inefficiency of their decrepit systems, it is probably already too late. Decentralized money is an idea whose time has come. Bitcoin is the breakthrough currency creating a widespread consciousness that there is an alternative to holding greenbacks, or lugging a trunk full of gold around.

Photo from www.casascius.comPhoto from www.casascius.com

Perhaps the most surprising thing about bitcoin is, in essence, the banality of the arguments. When all else fails, skeptics just cry tulipmania. Indeed, bitcoin bubbled and almost halved in value before the year’s end, but then again, thanks to the idiocy of the banker-government nexus in the last decade, just about every asset bubbled then and a great deal are bubbling now, like art and classic cars, thanks to QE [quantitative easing].

Yes, people steal bitcoins and these thefts are techno-mythologized by scaremongering media. Yet stealing bitcoin is just a virtual variant of traditional pickpocketing. Indeed BTC has been used to finance crime, just like the dear old anonymous bearer bond dollar is beloved of drug cartels. Some American security agencies have expressed concern about their lack of control over bitcoin, but they had an annus horribilis, during which, despite their vast overarching eavesdropping capacity, they still failed to see their own currency woes coming.

While price inflation is the first thing everybody recalls about bitcoin in 2013, what really defines its incredible year was how it slipped out of nerds’ virtual wallets into the mainstream. An 8 billion dollar asset leveraged its value to dominate the headlines and gain widespread recognition. Germany legalized it and many nations acknowledged it – even the US courts. That Norway called it an asset was seen as a dreadful slight; rather it was a splendid incremental step to wider appreciation. In the end, China and Thailand pushed back against the bitcoin juggernaut. The latter is hardly of global economic significance, while the former maintains a closed currency regime.

The year of bitcoin began with the currency on the fringes of digital society, but by the end of the year it was clearly “merging with the mainstream”. Decentralized crytocurrency is still in its infancy but the argument against central bankers’ follies is being won across the globe. After all, you can’t ‘clip’ bitcoin to degrade its value, nor can you inflate its value with QE or other flawed government policies.

2013 ended with citizens increasingly alienated from government as a monetary ally and edging closer to “In Bitcoin we Trust”. Bitcoin itself may only be the first stage of a revolution, similar perhaps to the Netscape browser at the birth of the web, or the Ford Model T which popularized automobile transport. Ultimately, however you look at it, this was the year when bitcoin made its irrevocable mark on history.

1.  NATURAL LAW AND REASON

AMONG INTELLECTUALS WHO CONSIDER themselves “scientific,” the phrase “the nature of man” apt to have the effect of a red flag on a bull. “Man has no nature!” is the modern rallying cry; and typical of the sentiment of political philosophers today was the assertion of a distinguished political theorist some years ago before a meeting of the American Political Science Association that “man’s nature” is a purely theological concept that must be dismissed from any scientific discussion.[1]

In the controversy over man’s nature, and over the broader and more controversial concept of “natural law,” both sides have repeatedly proclaimed that natural law and theology are inextricably intertwined. As a result, many champions of natural law, in scientific or philosophic circles, have gravely weakened their case by implying that rational, philosophical methods alone cannot establish such law: that theological faith is necessary to maintain the concept. On the other hand, the opponents of natural law have gleefully agreed; since faith in the supernatural is deemed necessary to belief in natural law, the latter concept must be tossed out of scientific, secular discourse, and be consigned to the arcane sphere of the divine studies. In consequence, the idea of a natural law founded on reason and rational inquiry has been virtually lost.[2]

The believer in a rationally established natural law must, then, face the hostility of both camps: the one group sensing in this position an antagonism toward religion; and the other group suspecting that God and mysticism are being slipped in by the back door. To the first group, it must be said that they are reflecting an extreme Augustinian position which held that faith rather than reason was the only legitimate tool for investigating man’s nature and man’s proper ends. In short, in this fideist tradition, theology had completely displaced philosophy. [3] The Thomist tradition, on the contrary, was precisely the opposite: vindicating the independence of philosophy from theology and proclaiming the ability of man’s reason to understand and arrive at the laws, physical and ethical, of the natural order. If belief in a systematic order of natural laws open to discovery by man’s reason is per se anti-religious, then anti-religious also were St. Thomas and the later Scholastics, as well as the devout Protestant jurist Hugo Grotius. The statement that there is an order of natural law, in short, leaves open the problem of whether or not God has created that order; and the assertion of the viability of man’s reason to discover the natural order leaves open the question of whether or not that reason was given to man by God. The assertion of an order of natural laws discoverable by reason is, by itself, neither pro- nor anti-religious.[4]

Because this position is startling to most people today let us investigate this Thomistic position a little further. The statement of absolute independence of natural law from the question of the existence of God was implicit rather than flatly asserted in St. Thomas himself; but like so many implications of Thomism, it was brought forth by Suarez and the other brilliant Spanish Scholastics of the late sixteenth century. The Jesuit Suarez pointed out that many Scholastics had taken the position that the natural law of ethics, the law of what is good and bad for man, does not depend upon God’s will. Indeed, some of the Scholastics had gone so far as to say that:

even though God did not exist, or did not make use of His reason, or did not judge rightly of things, if there is in man such a dictate of right reason to guide him, it would have had the same nature of law as it now has.[5]

Or, as a modem Thomist philosopher declares:

If the word “natural” means anything at all, it refers to the nature of a man, and when used with “law,” “natural” must refer to an ordering that is manifested in the inclinations of a man’s nature and to nothing else. Hence, taken in itself, there is nothing religious or theological in the “Natural Law” of Aquinas.[6]

Dutch Protestant jurist Hugo Grotius declared, in his De Iure Belli ac Pacis (1625):

What we have been saying would have a degree of validity even if we should concede that which cannot be conceded without the utmost wickedness, that there is no God.

And again:

Measureless as is the power of God, nevertheless it can be said that there are certain things over which that power does not extend. . . . Just as even God cannot cause that two times two should not make four, so He cannot cause that which is intrinsically evil be not evil.[7]

D’Entrèves concludes that:

[Grotius’s] definition of natural law has nothing revolutionary. When he maintains that natural law is that body of rules which Man is able to discover by the use of his reason, he does nothing but restate the Scholastic notion of a rational foundation of ethics. Indeed, his aim is rather to restore that notion which had been shaken by the extreme Augustinianism of certain Protestant currents of thought. When he declares that these rules are valid in themselves, independently of the fact that God willed them, he repeats an assertion which had already been made by some of the schoolmen.[8]

Grotius’s aim, d’Entrèves adds, “was to construct a system of laws which would carry conviction in an age in which theological controversy was gradually losing the power to do so.” Grotius and his juristic successors—Pufendorf, Burlamaqui, and Vattel—proceeded to elaborate this independent body of natural laws in a purely secular context, in accordance with their own particular interests, which were not, in contrast to the Schoolmen, primarily theological.[9] Indeed, even the eighteenth-century rationalists, in many ways dedicated enemies of the Scholastics, were profoundly influenced in their very rationalism by the Scholastic tradition.[10]

Thus, let there be no mistake: in the Thomistic tradition, natural law is ethical as well as physical law; and the instrument by which man apprehends such law is his reason-not faith, or intuition, or grace, revelation, or anything else.[11] In the contemporary atmosphere of sharp dichotomy between natural law and reason—and especially amid the irrationalist sentiments of “conservative” thought—this cannot be underscored too often. Hence, St. Thomas Aquinas, in the words of the eminent historian of philosophy Father Copleston, “emphasized the place and function of reason in moral conduct. He [Aquinas] shared with Aristotle the view that it is the possession of reason which distinguished man from the animals” and which “enables him to act deliberately in view of the consciously apprehended end and raises him above the level of purely instinctive behavior.”[12]

Aquinas, then, realized that men always act purposively, but also went beyond this to argue that ends can also be apprehended by reason as either objectively good or bad for man. For Aquinas, then, in the words of Copleston, “there is therefore room for the concept of  ‘right reason,’ reason directing man’s acts to the attainment of the objective good for man.” Moral conduct is therefore conduct in accord with right reason: “If it is said that moral conduct is rational conduct, what is meant is that it is conduct in accordance with right reason, reason apprehending the objective good for man and dictating the means to its attainment.”[13]

In natural-law philosophy, then, reason is not bound, as it is in modern post-Humean philosophy, to be a mere slave to the passions, confined to cranking out the discovery of the means to arbitrarily chosen ends. For the ends themselves are selected by the use of reason; and “right reason” dictates to man his proper ends as well as the means for their attainment. For the Thomist or natural-law theorist, the general law of morality for man is a special case of the system of natural law governing all entities of the world, each with its own nature and its own ends. “For him the moral law . . . is a special case of the general principles that all finite things move toward their ends by the development of their potentialities.”[14] And here we come to a vital difference between inanimate or even non-human living creatures, and man himself; for the former are compelled to proceed in accordance with the ends dictated by their natures, whereas man, “the rational animal,” possesses reason to discover such ends and the free will to choose.[15]

Which doctrine, natural law or those of its critics, is to be considered truly rational was answered incisively by the late Leo Straus, in the course of a penetrating critique of the value-relativism in political theory of Professor Arnold Brecht. For, in contrast to natural law,

positivistic social science . . . is characterized by the abandonment of reason or the flight from reason. . . .

According to the positivistic interpretation of relativism which prevails in present-day social science . . . reason can tell us which means are conducive to which ends; it cannot tell us which attainable ends are to be preferred to other attainable ends. Reason cannot tell us that we ought to choose attainable ends; if someone ‘loves him who desires the impossible,’ reason may tell him that he acts irrationally, but it cannot tell him that he ought to act rationally, or that acting irrationally is acting badly or basely. If rational conduct consists in choosing the right means for the right end, relativism teaches in effect that rational conduct is impossible.[16]

Finally, the unique place of reason in natural-law philosophy has been affirmed by the modern Thomistic philosopher, the late Father John Toohey. Toohey defined sound philosophy as follows: “Philosophy, in the sense in which the word is used when scholasticism is contrasted with other philosophies, is an attempt on the part of man’s unaided reason to give a fundamental explanation of the nature of things.”[17]

[1]The political theorist was the late Hannah Arendt. For a typical criticism of natural law by a legal Positivist, see Hans Kelsen, General Theory of Law and State (New York: Russell and Russell, 1961), pp. 8ff.

[2]And yet, Black’s Law Dictionary defines the natural law in a purely rationalistic and non-theological manner:

Jus Naturale, the natural law, or law of nature; law, or legal principles, supposed to be discoverable by the light of nature or abstract reasoning, or to be taught by nature to all nations and men alike, or law supposed to govern men and peoples in a state of nature, i.e., in advance of organized governments or enacted laws (3rd ed., p. 1044).

Professor Patterson, in Jurisprudence: Men and Ideas of the Law (Brooklyn: Foundation Press, 1953), p. 333, defines the natural law cogently and concisely as:

Principles of human conduct that are discoverable by “reason” from the basic inclinations of human nature, and that are absolute, immutable and of universal validity for all times and places. This is the basic conception of scholastic natural law . . . and most natural law philosophers.

[3]Supporters of theological ethics nowadays typically strongly oppose the concept of natural law. See the discussion of casuistry by the neo-orthodox Protestant theologian Karl Barth, Church Dogmatics 3,4 (Edinburgh: T. and T. Clark, 1961), pp. 7ff.

[4]For a discussion of the role of reason in the philosophy of Aquinas, see Etienne Gilson, The Christian Philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas (New York: Random House, 1956). An important analysis of Thomistic natural law theory is Germain Grisez, “The First Principle of Practical Reason,” in Anthony ed., Aquinas: A Collection of Critical Essays (New York: Anchor Books, 1969), pp. 340–82. For a history of medieval natural law, see Odon Lottin, Psychologie et morale aux xiie et xiiie siècles, 6 vols. (Louvain, 1942-1960).

[5]From Franciscus Suarez, De Legibus ac Deo Legislatore (1619), lib. II, Cap. vi. Suarez also noted that many Scholastics “seem therefore logically to admit that natural law does not proceed from God as a lawgiver, for it is not dependent on God’s will.” Quoted in A. P. d’Entrèves, Natural Law (London: Hutchinson University Library, 1951), p. 71.

[11]The late realist philosopher John Wild, in his important article, “Natural Law and Modern Ethical Theory,” Ethics (October 1952), states:

Realistic [natural law] ethics is now often dismissed as theological and authoritarian in character. But this is a misunderstanding. Its ablest representatives, from Plato and Aristotle to Grotius, have defended it on the basis of empirical evidence alone without any appeal to supernatural authority (p. 2, and pp. 1–13).

Also see the denial of the existence of such a thing as “Christian philosophy” any more than “Christian hats and shoes” by the Catholic social philosopher Orestes Brownson. Thomas T. McAvoy, C.S.C., “Orestes A. Brownson and Archbishop John Hughes in 1860,” Review of Politics (January 1962): 29.

[15] Thus Copleston:

Inanimate bodies act in certain ways precisely because they are what they are, and they cannot act otherwise; they cannot perform actions which are contrary to their nature. And animals are governed by instinct. In fine, all creatures below man participate unconsciously in the eternal law, which is reflected in their natural tendencies, and they do not possess the freedom which is required in order to be able to act in a manner incompatible with this law. It is therefore essential that he [man] should know the eternal law in so far as it concerns himself. Yet, how can he know it? He cannot read, as it were, the mind of God . . . [but] he can discern the fundamental tendencies and needs of his nature, and by reflecting on them he can come to a knowledge of the natural moral law. . . . Every man possesses . . . the light of reason whereby he can reflect . . . and promulgate to himself the natural law, which is the totality of the universal precepts or dictates of right reason concerning the good which is to be pursued and the evil which is to be shunned (Ibid., pp. 213–14).

[17]Toohey adds that “scholastic philosophy is the philosophy which teaches the certitude of human knowledge acquired by means of sense experience, testimony, reflection, and reasoning.” John J. Toohey, S.J., Notes on Epistemology (Washington, D.C.: Georgetown University, 1952), pp. 111–12.

10 Most Iconic Libertarian Moments Of 2013

10 Most Iconic Libertarian Moments Of 2013

1. Edward Snowden blows the whistle on the NSA

This summer, Edward Snowden made himself perhaps the most famous person of the year by leaking information about U.S. surveillance programs. In several days of interviews with the Guardian, Snowden explained, “I’m willing to sacrifice all of [my life] because I can’t in good conscience allow the U.S. government to destroy privacy, internet freedom and basic liberties for people around the world with this massive surveillance machine they’re secretly building.”

Not only did he expose to America and the rest of the world just how vast Big Brother is, but Snowden also put the U.S. government on its heels. Nearly every claim made by the U.S. defending the program, including those by President Barack Obama himself, was proven to be a lie. Thankfully, only 1% of the information that Snowden took has been released. He truly is a libertarian and an American hero, and he is already being vindicated.

2. Chelsea Manning bravely speaks out

For over three years, former Army Private Chelsea Manning was illegally detained, kept in solitary confinement, and humiliated for her decision to leak documents to Wikileaks showing that the U.S. government routinely engages in torture and war crimes.

She finally received a trial, and although she has been sentenced to prison for over a hundred years, she was thankfully acquitted of the bogus “aiding the enemy” charge. Thanks to a flimsy case, a good defense, and the support of millions around the world, what would have been a dangerous precedent for the future of journalism and transparency never took place.

In a letter to Obama requesting a pardon, Manning said, “I will gladly pay that price if it means we could have a country that is truly conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all women and men are created equal.” Throughout the entire ordeal, Manning was nothing short of composed, and serves as a courageous example to the rest of us.

3. The U.S. didn’t bomb Syria

Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.), as principled as he is entertaining, summed it up on his Twitter feed.

It is amazing how quickly war fever rises and fades in America. Remember Syria? Obama drew a “red line,” and the media was bombarding us every day with propaganda about how the U.S. must bomb Syria to stop Bashar Al-Assad from using chemical weapons on his own people.

This scenario has worked before, but thanks to an amazing surge of grassroots American opposition, the likes of which the U.S. establishment has rarely seen before, the war drums suddenly stopped beating. Congressional offices were swarmed with calls against a war in Syria, and the U.S. backed off. It was an absolute pleasure to see the American public say no, especially when the great journalism of Seymour Hersh has proved the war skeptics right.

4. Bitcoin surgedCasascius bitcoin

The Federal Reserve’s monopoly on creating money and artificially controlling interest rates allows the government to expand without end and creates a corporatist, boom-and-bust economy that is antithetical to a free society.

Rather than dismantling the Fed from the inside, using alternative currencies may be the best way to slay this dragon. Gold and silver are still popular, but it is astonishing how much Bitcoin has exploded in the past year. Bitcoin provides individuals with anonymity, convenience, and most importantly, a way of circumventing fiat money. Libertarians are divided on its merits, but it will be very exciting to see where the market for Bitcoin (and other alternatives) will go.

5. Americans reject interventionism

Last month, a Pew Research poll that measures Americans’ perception of their country’s place in the world found that for the first time in half a century, Americans want the U.S. to mind its own business overseas. At the same time, however, Americans want increased involvement with the rest of the world non-militarily through trade, cultural exchange, and diplomacy. This shatters the myth of “isolationism” and is a huge boost for the libertarian foreign policy position.

6. Rand Paul filibusters for more than 13 hours

Back in March, Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) delivered a 13-hour filibuster excoriating the Obama administration’s drone warfare policy, while defending civil liberties and constitutional law. This earned the wrath of the predictable detractors in both parties, but the grassroots left and right stood by Paul. Not only was Paul’s filibuster a great show of political swagger, but it also helped to bring light to an issue that is still plagued in darkness and secrecy and is deadly as ever.

7. Ron Paul “retires”

Former Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) may officially be retired from public office, but he is busier than ever. The man responsible for the biggest spread of libertarian ideas in recent American history now has his own TV channel, a homeschool curriculum, another best-selling book, and an institute dedicated to non-interventionist foreign policy. Even at 78 years young, the godfather of libertarianism is still not going anywhere.

8. The government shuts down

9. Colorado and Washington legalize marijuana

The War on Drugs has been an absolute failure. It has resulted in the largest prison population on Earth and is perhaps the greatest factor behind the militarization of police and the erosion of the Fourth and Fifth Amendments. Colorado and Washington both decriminalized marijuana, which not only defies the authority of the federal government, but also will hopefully set an example for other states to follow suit.

10. Obama gets photoshopped

Early this year, the White House released a photo of Obama skeet shooting at Camp David, something the president claims he does “all the time.” The photo came with a disclaimer that it was supposed to be for publication purposes only, “and may not be manipulated in any way.” A few hours later, there were too many photoshops to count. Poking fun at political leaders is a healthy tradition in any free society, and it was so wonderful to see so many defy the president’s wishes in even the smallest way.

Or are you a slave to a BORG corporation.  Most are still trapped in the Matrix.  Freedom, like any concept starts in the mind and radiates out from there.  Know that YOU are a sentient being with the POWER of decision to live that way.  Ignore the BORG, do they bring any value to your life?  Vote with your feet, voice, pen and your money.  Any other form of voting is mental masturbation.

Songwriters: Steve Winwood, Will Jennings

Stand up in a clear blue morning until you see what can be
Alone in a cold day dawning, are you still free? Can you be?
When some cold tomorrow finds you, when some sad old dream reminds you
How the endless road unwinds you

While you see a chance take it, find romance take it
Because it’s all on you

Don’t you know by now no one gives you anything
Don’t you wonder how you keep on moving one more day your way

When there’s no one left to leave you, even you don’t quite believe you
That’s when nothing can deceive you

Stand up in a clear blue morning until you see what can be
Alone in a cold day dawning, are you still free? Can you be?
And that old gray wind is blowing and there’s nothing left worth knowing
And it’s time you should be going

The Power of Manifestation

What was only a few weeks ago, August 10, 2013, I was at a meeting Gaia’s house with Cronus, we were learning some advanced techniques for getting into rapport with other people, as we start building Titania. For those of you who don’t know, I have been involved in Titania with Cronus since 2005, when I met him at the Palm Beach County Libertarian meeting. How I got from Anthem to Boca Raton was a trip in itself. And don’t even get me started on talking about the “Trip” back to the Phoenix area. On the way, I lost the belt on my Sally Car and she was a tight squeeze, so when it went, it bent the valves. Word to the wise “when you have an interference motor, change the belt at 100k”!!!! I spent 2 weeks broke down in Fabian Texas. Now that’s a story, I taught myself how to pan, to get Sally and me back to Phoenix.

At the he meeting where I met Cronus, he was giving a presentation about Creativity, Ethics, a place called Titanium, a half-baked evil pseudo-organization known as, “THE BORG”, for god’s sakes and most importantly how human beings are unwittingly trapped in one or more hierarchies, which consistently make UN-Ethical Decisions. I hear a lot of people flap their jaws at me, some of them the best in the business, mostly customers who are the biggest LIARS, and I ain’t never heard this kind of flap! For me it’s either pitch or catch. I prefer pitching ’cause there is more money on that side, however if you have something real good, I also enjoy a good catch. And if you have something really good I will pick up the ball and pitch too. It’s just how I roll!

Now being this is MY Life and MY body is MY property, I want to be who I want to be, so I am Morpheus. You know, “The Bringer of the Dream“. You betcha, baby. I know it’s kinda silly, but isn’t the world as a whole, kinda whacked out of it’s mind also? Plus, as long as I am living in some kind of science fiction movie, I might as well play my part! What really inspired me about Cronus at that time, he seemed to actually have a LONG TERM SOLUTION, that would solve all the the Big Problems in the world. In addition, according to Cronus, all the problems we face like: Bureaucracy, Chem Trails, Extortion, Genocide, Race-Hatred, Corruption, Hunger, Slavery, Crime, Ignorance, Terrorism, Taxation, Drug Addiction, Police State, Pollution, Violence, Exploitation,Poverty, Sex Trade, Legal Bullying, Homelessness, Monetary Devaluation and War are actually just symptoms of exactly ONE PROBLEM. That’s it, just ONE, now that’s really MENTAL. This ONE BIG PROBLEM, is created by hierarchical organizations at the top of the pyramid, making consistently UN-Ethical decisions. All the other problems, mentioned above are actually just the symptoms.

BTW this bald, really old guy, whose looks sometimes remind me of Dr. Evil, had the audacity to say that the implementation of this new way of organizing anarchists, could make a substantive change in humanity, one that could prevent its very extinction. Ha Ha Ha ROTFLMAO! You know, I like a good joke, guess the universe was playing one on me this time. His presentation, which I have to add, is considerably better than the the first one I heard him do at the West Palm Beach Macaroni Grill, in what seems a lifetime ago. His presentation was so far and away different than anything I had heard in my entire life, from the propagandists on TV, Radio, print both in papers and in books, politicians, preachers, teachers,  freedom movement gurus, yogi’s, Jesus Christ, Socrates, republicans, democrats, libertarians, anarchists, communist, psychologists, my parents, my ex’s, my friends and even myself about all the problems in the world. What was so different about his presentation was he talked about a solution that involved a new way to organize human beings that made them more Creative and Ethical. I had never heard anything remotely close to what he was offering. What was really mental, is this guy actually made sense! The other thing that blew me away, was that his father Boris, did a physics theory (Cronus would say a paper) with Albert  Einstein. Hello, “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”…Right?

Since becoming aware of these Power Brokerage Cartels and the damage they do to humanity, (9/11, Gulf of Tonkin, Martin Luther King, JFK, Jesus Christ, the War of Northern Aggression, The Holocaust, the Decimation of the American Indians, the Spanish Inquisition etc, etc, etc) it’s become a passion of mine to completely disengage from the system, most especially the “legal” system. I don’t want to have anything to do with them, so I don’t. It’s also another reason to do the Morpheus thing.  Recently I was able to travel to Dallas to hang out with my good friend Jordan Page, and even though, the trip home was a bit more hairy, courtesy of the Toothpaste Stealing Agents (TSA)  still I made it there and back, without ID. But hey, that’s another story. Its another good one, so keep on coming back!

Walking Through Valley of the Shadow of Death

So there we are at the meeting and someone mentioned that Foster Gamble, the creator of the Thrive Movement was going to be at Libertopia. Cronus had already been communicating with Foster and I knew he had to press his flesh. So as soon as I heard this, my instant reaction was to say, “I will be at Libertopia, even if I have to pan handle to get there. And if I have to put Cronus in a four way to get him into my conveyance to get him there, I would do that as well.” Well, I wouldn’t really put him in a four way and I didn’t want to pan to get there either. We all have our own lives to lead, without being coerced. I just wanted to have everyone know, including myself – ‘Brother, I am going to be there’. You can make a million dollars or you can make a million excuses, you cannot do both. I’d like a million federal reserve notes please, so no excuses from me.

To me it’s all about the decision. Make it firm and know you are going to do it. Fear, doubt and worry can never even enter into your mind. I run the program backwards and then it’s just a matter of showing up and doing everything possible to make it happen. 90% of Success is just showing up. Actually I would rate it at 100% ’cause I have never sold a deal when I didn’t show up. This is where many people get hung up and allow fear, doubt and worry to take over. They come up with excuses on why they can’t do it, or why it won’t work. When I was studying the Kabbalah in Boca Raton, I was told “whatever you resist, THAT is what you need to do.”

Then it’s just a matter of putting your faith in yourself and god. That’s when the magic happens. Those who are atheists can put their faith in themselves and the god of logic. I don’t give a shit. In AA they told me you want god to be the doorknob, god is the doorknob. That was another eye opener. Wait a second…I can believe whatever I want to believe AND my beliefs do not require anyone else to believe as I do…That’s Heavy. When I came to grips with that one, it was like a heavy weight was loaded off my shoulders. You can use it too, if you like it. At least it works for me, and right now, this is my movie, not urs. The faith thing is what does it for me. I believe in Destiny, which happens to be my daughter’s name, ‘Destinee’. What works best for me, is the 23rd Psalm. I have it taped to my steering wheel. I read it several times a day. I do not profess to be a Christian, I prefer born again PAGAN.

Psalm 23 The LORD Is My Shepherd

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord FOR EVER.

Well, the week before Libertopia, I had a major epiphany: Forever is a long time right? Forever extends into infinity into the future and it also extends the same way in the PAST! That being the case, I am IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD RIGHT NOW!… Baby! So many digressions so little time, and pixels too, lol! The other one is shall, is the strongest word in law. Like thou SHALL not Kill. Ten Commandments shit. Some guy asked me a few months back, when I was at the Arizona Freedom Fest, if I was “Saved by Jesus” I told him “the LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. Tell me what more I need to know.” Shut his ass up. That’s because it is IMPOSSIBLE to want ’cause “I SHALL NOT WANT”, maybe I am just crazy.

After having the most awesome time at Libertopia and meeting all the super strong’s people there. I was giddy1DMGuMppvRjg21jj3Eo7TYmwWvuY1Dsyh4 to have all the fantastic conversations with everyone, and you know who you are. I also had the extreme pleasure of having dinner with Mike Badnarik, Foster Gamble, Clyde Cleveland, Bob Podolsky, Bernard von NotHaus, Gaia, Mercury and Keith, not once, but TWICE. What a coup d’etat to have all these heavy weights endorsing the Titania Project! I had the extreme pleasure to introduce Clyde Cleveland, Michael Badnarik, Foster Gamble and Bob Podolsky for a panel discussion on the Titania Project. It was just plain crazy! Like Straight Up and Down! The video will be out soon. I hope you will sign up on the site and I give you permission to add the alt names on the pictures. If there is a picture that you would like or one you want me to delete, email me at M-o-r-p-h-e-u-s@titanians>.<org (no dashes). I will get it to you in higher resolution and without my watermark in it. I do take donations in BITCOIN 1DMGuMppvRjg21jj3Eo7TYmwWvuY1Dsyh4

So get out there and rock, and Roll the Bones…Get Busy!

Life Changing book FLOURISH

Bob Podolsky’s new book, FLOURISH! is being read and is highly regarded florish cover Bob Podolskyby some of the Liberty Movement’s deepest thinkers and strongest leaders – folks like Clyde Cleveland the author of Common Sense Revisited, and Foster Gamble, creator of the movie, Thrive.

The book FLOURISH presents the most thoughtful analysis to date of the BIG PROBLEM that humanity faces today, and it also proposes a unique solution to the problem – one that goes beyond the notion of tinkering with the laws or reestablishing the Constitution. Podolsky has shown unequivocally that, while these efforts may be necessary to bring about peace and prosperity, they will never be sufficient for this purpose – because:

  • The central bankers who own the government don’t care about the law – except when it serves them.
  • They routinely kill anyone who gets in their way – and have slaughtered hundreds of millions of people in the course of the past century.

Based on twenty years of scientific research spanning 2,500 years of historical evidence, this book provides powerful answers to the questions that have plagued liberty activists since the movement began. You have the opportunity to meet the Bob Podolsky at the Common Sense Revisited booth at Libertopia 2013.  And on:

Friday 4 pm @ Salon 4 to hear Bob Saturday 9 am @ Salon 6 with Clyde Cleveland
Sunday 2 pm @ Salon 4 with Foster Gamble Sunday 4 pm @ Salon 5 w/Foster, Clyde, Bob

Preface to “Flourish” – by Clyde Cleveland

Buckminster Fuller: “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”

If you just picked up this book and are reading this preface to decide whether to continue, then I pray with all my heart, mind, and soul that the words I have set forth here inspire you as you have never been inspired before. I implore you not only to read this amazing and utterly revolutionary book, but also to immediately get involved in the Titania Project with all of the energy, enthusiasm, and resources you can bring to the effort.

This book is powerful beyond description. I will do my best, however, to explain just what it means to me and how profoundly it can change our entire world. This book truly presents the new model we have been looking for, to replace the bureaucratic institutions that enslave us.

Do you want:

  • World peace?
  • Complete prosperity for anyone who aspires to it?
  • A health care SYSTEM designed to help you be healthy rather than to make the pharmaceutical industry wealthier?
  • Less crime?
  • Less drug abuse?
  • Better education?
  • A cleaner environment?
  • Less discrimination?
  • Safe healthy food that is not genetically altered?

Then read this book and learn how you can help create a transition to a system that will provide all of us with these glorious benefits and much, much more!

Bucky Fuller was correct that when you spend your energy and time fighting against firmly established institutions, you are going to end up demoralized, exhausted and discouraged. I know. I have spent a lifetime railing against the “system.” I have approached it from every possible angle including as a Republican, Democrat, Socialist, and Libertarian. I have been a Director or Founder of several organizations designed to reform the tax system, educate people about the GMO scam, create world peace, help create the first ever Constitutional sheriff convention, etc. I have run for office twice and written two books in order to educate people about the absolute and total corruption of our government and other major institutions.

It took me too long to understand that working through either political party is a total waste of time. They are both controlled by the same interest groups.  It took me still longer to realize that all of the divisions among us are created, promoted, exaggerated, and exacerbated by those who rule us. To divide and conquer is a very effective technique and it has been used for thousands of years to control people.

I finally realized that all of our political parties, organized religions, labor unions, banking/financial cartels, and many of our major corporations work together to protect each other and the power elite behind the scenes. The current system benefits them and they will work to keep the system just the way it is.

I have never read any book or heard anyone describe our present system and its faults as clearly as Robert Podolsky does in this book.  He has spent a lifetime doing research to bring out this knowledge. Describing the present corrupt, top-down, force based system we have lived under on this planet for nearly 8,000 years is only a small part of what he does in this book. The real meat of this book is the solution presented to create an alternative system.

The author is absolutely correct about the importance of ethics. Without a system of ethics which becomes the agreed upon prime directive of the vast majority of our society, we are doomed.  Anyone who has studied the founding of the American Republic knows that, for the most part, a very high level of ethical conduct pervaded commerce and business in the 1700’s. The founders knew that without high moral and ethical standards, a freedom based, bottom up model of governance would not last long.

An ethical code is only part of the solution presented.  The author also presents a model for bottom up governance that is applicable to any organization including: governments, unions, corporations, religions, non-profit organizations, or any other organization of human beings imaginable.

From the early Israelis and Anglo Saxons, who used the principle of ten family units, to the successful Iroquois tribal system; from the amazingly prosperous and entrepreneurial Gore enterprises to the success story of Visa under CEO and visionary Dee Hock; from the Deming inspired corporate model in Japan to the employee owned modern companies becoming more popular every day, the examples of bottom up, freedom based, non-coercive models of human organization abound.

The end result of all bottom-up organizational models is more freedom, more creativity, more happiness, more productivity, more harmony, and more success on all levels of human activity and behavior. It is a new age – and that new age will not come about from a policy or bill passed in the U.S. Congress. You will not change the U.S. Congress, because that entity is part of a system that is very effectively doing its job.  Its job is not, however, to represent you or make your life better. Its job is to make those who control the system behind the scenes more powerful and wealthier than they are now. It is critical to understand that, in their minds, they will never have enough power or wealth.

No government or entity that is part of the existing system will save us. Do not think that the United Nations will save us – or that it is even benign.  Think again. The United Nations and all its spawn were created by the power elite that control the governments of this world and the biggest and wealthiest banking and financial institutions in the world.  For explanations of this fact, read “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” by Perkins and “The Creature from Jekyll Island” by Griffin.

We must create a new system based on a new model, as Fuller says, if we want change.  That model, as explained in this book, exists now and can be used by us to improve our lives in virtually every way starting today!  As the new system grows and takes on more of the tasks that we have mistakenly delegated to top down, bureaucratic governments, corporations, religions, and unions, we will see those ancient, useless, coercive, damaging institutions simply disappear. They will vanish as useless relics of a much less evolved society.

It is absolutely up to you to create this new system and make it a reality. A new age will not happen by itself – it will be created by people like you and me. I promise you that the process will be fun, profitable and fulfilling on all levels.  It is up to each of us to make this new model a reality. Our children and grandchildren’s lives depend on it!!

Bob brings a SOLUTION based strategy for self-governance AND self awareness…Without Government! With 20 years of scientific research spanning 2,500 years of historical evidence.

Of the many excellent participants slated to appear at this year’s event, the four above are embracing a new approach to solving the problems created by our coercive institutions (BORG). They will also present evidence that this integrated approach is optimal for maximizing the probability of the movement’s success.

Humanity’s BIG PROBLEM is simply our societal institutions consistently making unethical decisions. All the other problems our species faces are simply symptoms of this one pivotal challenge. To cure the symptoms of war, hunger, poverty, financial slavery, police brutality, government corruption, the war on drugs, GMO foods, chemtrail deployments, gun confiscation, asset forfeiture, media collusion – or any other manifestation of treasonous violence inflicted on the public under color of law, we need only create ethical institutions.

Come to Libertopia to learn what some of the brightest minds in the freedom movement are doing to bring this about.

Start taking effective action to establish an ethical, creative, loving, grassroots-based culture that leads directly to a world of peace and prosperity. The answers you’ve been looking for are available NOW. Stop wasting time hacking at the branches of the tree of tyranny and start attacking tyranny at the root, where it really counts. See you at Libertopia! Roll the Bones!

The Entertainment Industrial Complex (EIC) a division of the Lame Stream Media (LSM) has in the past been successful at keeping the musical artistry of Jordan Page, the world’s leading activist/guitarist who sings about freedom and liberty, out of the mainstream.

I  made a decision to change this!  That’s where it all starts. With a simple decision. With that decision, and the end in mind its just a matter of backing it out.  How do I help my brother Jordan Page get the money?  Real simple I’ve got to SELL SOMETHING!

Ok, so “Morpheus”, I ask myself, “what do i have to sell?”  People who know me would say I could sell Ice to an Eskimo!  LOL.   Ok I have 2 CD’s by Jordan Page and I know where I can get CD duplications services at activist pricing.  I head to Fry’s Electronics, pick up CD’s, jackets and labels. Then it’s Burn Baby Burn (Burn the Mother Down). So I made 100 of each CD.  Quick multiplication says, I need to get 10 buck-buck-bucks from those that either know Jordan kicks ass all over, those that think that Jordan is good and have not really “Listened” to him.  Finally we have those who have never even heard of Jordan Page.  The 2 second groups are really one group, because that haven’t heard him.  Why is that?  Because Jordan is not on the list of people who get to be heard by  the Main Stream audience.  Sounds familiar? Sure sounds like the Ron Paul Revolution.  How does that go? history doesn’t repeat itself, it just rhymes a lot!

The gigantic OMG difference between the two is Jordan Page is:

  • a better performer than Ron Paul.
  • sings way better Ron Paul.
  • play guitar better than Ron Paul.
  • looks  better than Ron Paul
  • is Younger than Ron Paul.
  • And what’s more, Jordan doesn’t have an end date – like an election that will terminate the “revolution”.

I know from past projects, which have been successful, largely thanks to all my Super Hero Friends (and you know who you are), it’s all a matter of thinking backwards.  OK. Jordan Page kicks ass, and has the material to create a new CD.  I have been listening to Jordan Page play music live and recording and HE GETS BETTER EVERY SINGLE TIME!

So, I encourage you to send me $10.00, and in return I will send you a Jordan Page CD. Or, better yet, buy a bunch and resell them to get the word out about this amazingly talented activist!

  • Jordan needs $4,000 for studio time to make his next CD. And we want to give him all  the support we can.
  • Visit Jordan’s website to learn more about his music and his message.
  • Please address PayPal payments to: freetitanians@yahoo.com with a memo that says “Jordan”.
  • Please address BitCoin payments to 1HsxEaawHEf2nAcNnqWe2EccMqpDvE4Uik
  • Then contact Cronus#*@*#titanians.org with your address so you can get the CD of your choice.
  • And be sure to listen to “Declare Your Independence with Ernest Hancock” 7/22 – 6 to 9 am MST. Morpheus co-hosting the will be sitting in for Ernie for an all Jordan Page musical extravaganza.

 More to come SOON!
